Mentored by RGWW's Artistic Director Rosanna Gamson, Terra Nova is a six week choreographic residency for three dance artists to develop new work that will be shown in a culminating public performance at the conclusion of the sixth week.

Established Los Angeles choreographers, presenters, and funders advise the Terra Nova 2024 artists during the creation process, and participate in a public conversation following the performance.

Terra Nova is an opportunity to work closely with renowned choreographer Rosanna Gamson, to reboot your creative process, and to find new strategies to strengthen your artistic voice in dialogue with other LA-based choreographers.

Jordan Saenz

is a movement artist, fiber artist, plant medicine maker, early childhood educator, and choreographer currently practicing on Tongva land. Their visceral work harnesses movement for storytelling, catharsis, and connection to the spiritual. Jordan grew up in Colorado, finding wonder in the mountain landscapes, and the halls of their mother’s dance studio. They learned early on how to transmute their curiosity, joy, and grief into movement practice. Jordan graduated in 2012 with a BFA from the Sharon Disney Lund school of dance at CalArts, where they forged creative relationships with artists Ariana Daub, Lindsey Redtail, and Stephanie Zaletel (Szalt). Their wisdom and friendship have continued to infuse Jordan’s artistic practices over the years. Outside of concert dance, Jordan is passionate about live music and has spent the last decade immersed in community with many notable and gifted musicians. Some of their collaborations include Meerna, Rose Droll, Zelma Stone, Myia Folick, Art Feynman, FYOHNA, and more. Amidst these ongoing collaborations, Jordan continues to dance, teach, and develop new work.
