Residency Activities
The Whole Story:
Making dance and movement-based performance. A cross-genre intensive composition workshop / laboratory / think-tank / hot-seat for anyone dedicated to progressing work-in-progress. Taught by Rosanna Gamson at a range of schools and festivals including Highways Performance University, Scripps College, CalArts, the California Science Center and the Third Street Theater's "Actors' Bootcamp".
Physical Theater:
A workshop for performers of all levels of experience, using the whole self-- body, voice, face, mind-- to practice full-body performing. Taught by Dana Wieluns (Adults), Richard Gallegos (Children & Teens, ages 8-18).
Baile Popular:
Learn the basics of Salsa, Mambo, Rhumba with an emphasis on leading and following. Taught by Cesar Cazares & Lilia Lopez.
Introduction to Flamenco:
Vera Flores Celaya will introduce correct body posture, hand and arm movements, footwork, the basic structure of creating dances and a discussion of how, when, and why certain footwork is done with a flamenco singer. Dance experience in any form is recommended.
